3 Months

So I have been really bad at blogging lately...oops! But Sophia is now 3 months old and wow is time flying by, I felt like we just bought her home yesterday. She is growing and changing so quickly it seems, she is such a blessing to have in our lives. The last time we had to take her to the doctors she was almost 3 months old she had a bit of congestion she weighed 13lbs 7oz, the carrier is getting a lot heavier to carry around.  She is definitely growing into her own person, I know that she can't talk yet, but I find her hilarious, she is a very happy baby, but I think that she is a bit sassy! I'm not to sure how I would explain her personality....she will talk and smile like a normal baby, but it is as though she has days where she is not in a good mood...and when she talks there is more yelling and grunting, she has many facial expressions, many which are super cute and sweet. There are a few looks that she will give which I call her "sassy looks", one looks as though you are some crazy silly person (she gives me that one a lot when I am making a fool of myself trying to get her to talk or smile) Or she will give you this blank stare which I find hilarious. I love seeing all of them throughout the day.

She took her first airplane ride on July 13, 2011 to Fort Worth Texas to visit Nana and Papa. I was a bit stressed out about the flight. I was very excited that my mother-in-law flew up, just to fly back down with us, that made it a bit less stressful knowing that there was an extra set of hands, and since she works for Southwest she had all the knowledge of flying with a baby. I prepared and expected the worse, and I received the complete opposite. She was a natural, she did not cry once on the way there nor on the way home to Kansas City I was so amazed and relieved, especially because I know we will be doing more traveling in the future to visit family. On the flight to Texas Rusty saw who he thought was Aquib Talib, he was a KU football player and was the number one draft pick in 2008 and plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sure enough it was him, Rusty saw his boarding pass which said "A, Talib" that got him a bit distracted on the flight, he was all excited and asked the flight attendant, who was a fantastic lady, to ask for an autograph. Talib was a very kind guy (although he has a pretty long rap sheet) who gave an autograph on Sophia's First Flight Certificate, and even waited once we landed to take a picture with Rusty and Sophia. It was a nice trip to see Nana, Papa, and Uncle Steve, we only missed Aunt Amy who was in boot camp. =(
I kept my promise to Rusty and on 7/6/11 Sophia started to sleep in her own room, and she did AMAZING. It was nothing all we had to do was place her in there and she fell right to sleep and only woke up 2 times. I on the other hand didn't do as well, I wanted her in bed with me, and I was worried all night that I wouldn't hear her I didn't sleep too much because I kept sneaking into her room to check on her. But we are all better now and I love that she is in her crib. She is kind of sleeping through the night, I try to put to bed at 830 and she will sleep till 600 or 700. But we still have our days where she may wake up once or twice, its not consistent yet, but we are moving in the right direction. She has decided that she is a side sleeper, she never sleeps on her back, she rolls right
over to her side, and she is so close to being able to roll from back to belly, but not quite yet.
She sits up great in her Bumbo seat, she looks so grown up in it, lol It's like her little thrown. Also, she knows how to walk!! Okay, not really, but when we have her she bears quite a bit of weight on her legs, and she will put one foot in front of the other, she has the motions down. She kicks and moves around still, when she is in her car seat, she will raise her head like she wants to get out, that also cracks me up when I am getting in the backseat to get her out I see her big hair moving forward like she can actually get out of the seat! HAHA She starting to grab and hold onto objects we give her, she also likes to intensely stare at her hands and move her fingers.  By the way I LOVE her hair, it is so crazy and it is getting kind of long in the back, I don't know if I should trim it or not. We shall see.

Okay  I wasn't going to put this video up for all to see. i placed on Facebook only for certain people to see. She was throwing a tantrum, she had been fed just an hour before, she was changed and all. The day before his she learned to shout and scream. This video below is her first tantrum. I got a bit worried, but once I took her she calmed down pretty fast. Poor baby. Please don't think we laugh at her when she is upset. lol

I call her lots of things, like Sophia, Boo Boo, Bu Bu, Bubbles (because she slobbers so much literally makes bubbles) and Monkey (because she is such a hairy baby) !! It's amazing once your a mom you develop this whole other vocabulary and these silly words just start flowing out of your mouth! She is almost laughing I have found a few tickle spots, but the laughing has not come yet, but I think it may be soon. She likes baths, walks outside, when we sing to her (horribly), when I make a heartbeat sound with my mouth, morning time, baby Einstein videos, playing music and dancing with mommy, ceiling fans (she loves to look at them, even when they are off), funny voices (even if they sound a bit scary), and I'm sure much more I am leaving out. I kind of crammed a lot of information in this one blog...I shall try to keep this updated a bit more often.
Ole Miss, for a Chiefs game = /
Bath time.
Crazy hair. LOVE IT.
