2 years old.

Well we officially have a 2  year old! We had a Minnie Mouse themed party, we threw it at my parents house, has more room, I originally wanted to have at a park near our house but the shelters were all reserved already, maybe next year! She had a great time, unfortunately it was thrown during her nap time and I had decided to let her stay up through her nap time and sleep after the party, I was so happy and proud of her for doing so well without a nap, she was too busy playing! But she crashed hard once the party was over. On her actual birthday Rusty and I took her to Toys R Us to pick out a gift, forgot how big of a store it was! We walked almost the entire store before we bought her tricycle, she originally went and climbed in a motorized little car,  which would have been AWESOME, but she is still too small I think, and she has to ride a bike before she can drive a car! Afterwards we got some pizza and went to the park, it was a good day. Can't wait till next year when she can better understanding of her day!

At her 2 year check up LBS: 29 HT: 34 1/4" Head Circum: 20" She is off the charts in her head size and always has been, Rusty and I both have large heads I guess it's only natural we have large headed children. Her weight spiked a bit which I had been concerned with, only because I do worry about childhood obesity, but doctor says she is just fine, and as mother of the year I have still been giving whole milk when we should be giving 2% now,  in addition to givingWAY more than she needs which could be contributing to the spike in lbs! Dumb me! But this girl is addicted to milk, to where we cannot say the word around her, Rusty and I say Martin Luther King instead, MLK, nurse found it amusing and suggested that yes indeed she is addicted to milk. Too much milk can contribute to obesity and mess with hemoglobin levels, Sophia is fine, so 2% and no more than 20oz it is!
She is so smart and learns new words everyday, she recognizes colors, and numbers, she goes around the house saying ABC's, not the actual alphabet but just that A-B-C's funny girl, she has started whispering, not sure where it comes from, this is not a whispering household. I'll say Sophia did you have fun, she'll whisper "fun", or Ill say Sophia are you hungry, she'll whisper "hungry" you get the point, her speech is good and getting better everyday. She will say, "Oh, hurt, me kiss!" if you have a boo boo she can see, she is so expressive when she talks.

We had to leave the park (which we practically live at) the other day because although she is good at socializing, not always in the mood to share. But a girl came to play with this thing at the park when Sophia was and Sophia says Mine and kind of pushed the larger kid a couple times , the girl then walked to away to her mom holding her arm that Sophia pushed, although embarrassing, we apologized and I had to pick up my child to take home and gave the speech about sharing, although her face looked like she did not care to listen. She is a great help, she can understand directions pretty well, if there is a dirty diaper she says trash and will throw away without me asking, If I ask her to take something to her room, she takes it there, if I ask her to close doors she will, she is so good and a great helper around the house.
She has started to climb her crib, and has fallen out once already. We use her crib as time out and this is when she likes to climb, so we HAVE to find a new time out spot, not looking forward to having to try to get her to stay in one spot for 2 mins for time out, but I have to soon.  I have read that once they start to climb out of their cribs it is time to convert to a toddler bed, but if I did that she would be out of her crib playing in her room all the time. Most of the time she is ready for her nap, and for bedtime, but there are also times when she does not want to go, so if we convert now those times will be a pain! But we may just have to deal because I would hate for her to get hurt climbing out. The time she did fall I heard a thud, but no crying, so I freaked out and ran to her room, there she was standing by her crib with a shocked look on her face, I said are you okay, she just looked at me and started walking towards me, well not really me but the door to leave her room. I had to stop her and go through the motions of putting her back to sleep, this girl is one tough girl.
