Growing Family: Fathers Day 2013

Father's Day weekend started with the Kevin Gray 5K Father's Day run at Sporting Park in the Legends. Saturday we were going to a birthday party and a housewarming party which overlapped, I totally thought the run was on Sunday, until Friday night I looked at the date and then found out I was wrong and the race was Saturday too! I knew it was going to be an action packed Saturday!! Saturday morning our friends who we ran the race with were to meet at our house at 630am, I knew for sure that Brooke would wake up a 530 to eat, she did, but then I went back to bed and didnt have the alarm set, so I woke up at 600am and panicked, we have thirty minutes to hurry and get the girls fed, changed and ready along with ourselves! Let me just say we are pretty awesome because we were ready with some minutes to spare. Although Rusty fought me since registering for the race he was happy we did it. It's nice to be able to do things as a family. After the race we ate, then went to do shopping for the other two parties then had to get the girls home for their naps, while Rusty and I got ready.
The birthday was fun, Sophia had a great time! It was at a bounce house place, first she stayed in the little kid area, I think she was afraid of the big bounce house and the older kids, but after a bit she warmed up and jumped right in a bounced all over the place laughing and being crazy. I got a kick out of her, but was also very nervous as there were older kids doing flips and also being crazy, so I would yell for Sophia to come out but she would not listen and continue to play! Very happy she did not get hurt! After that we were to go on to the next event, needless to say Sophia was not in the best of moods to go anywhere after making her get up early in the morning, her nap was thrown off and she had an action packed day, we didn't get to make the last one!

Sunday we went to my parent's for Father's Day dinner. Ate some good food and played some volleyball! My family really likes to play and they get pretty competitive, I chose not to play due to the hot humid weather! But they had a good time playing. I felt sorry for Rusty, his legs were sore after the 5k Saturday, then some hard core volleyball the next day, he was limping around the house Sunday night, and still on Monday lol! Better get in shape.
Father's Day was nice, I am a lucky girl to have a great supporting dad, and thank him for always making sure his family was taken care of, he is the hardest working man I know! I am also lucky to have found a loving and caring man to be a fantastic father to our girls!
