More than 1/2 Way

Well, I have not blogged in a while now, I skipped Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and all in between! Our computer was down for a bit and I have been really bad with uploading pictures. So I really don't know where to start. As far as the pregnancy I am 25 weeks, I will be 26 weeks on Tuesday, I feel as though the first half went real fast, which is only making it more scary and real. After my next appointment in February I will be going to the doctors every two weeks up until the due date, they have suggested we sign up for lamze classes, which I think that we will. My pregnancy previa has resolved and all looks good as far as having the baby naturally =) My belly is starting to pop out, my belly button definitely doesn't look the same ha ha ha! The symptoms of pregnancy are starting to come true, I have gotten heartburn more and more, even when I don't eat anything spicy it comes on, and sometimes at work it comes on real bad, some people say it looks like i am going to cry, which I am not, but the burning makes my eyes water. I have tried to keep up with daily workouts, usually consists of a speed walk on the treadmill, I am for sure not as fast as I use to be. When Rusty and I are together shopping or just running errands, we have always walked at a fast pace for whatever reason. But on Christmas Eve we were finishing some last minute shopping was the first time Rusty noticed that I couldn't keep up. I had to ask him to slow down, he kind of chuckled and said "I never heard you say that before" I am happy that Rusty is very excited about this pregnancy, he really likes seeing me pregnant, I'm glad one of us likes the way I look. I  give myself a hard time because of the weight gain, but I really do enjoy being pregnant.
She moves a lot now I have felt her move since week 16. At first they were just very small movements to where I would try and have Rusty feel and he never could, all he felt was the pulse in his own hand. But as she has grown the movements have gotten stronger, on January 7th before we went to bed she was moving and I placed Rusty's hand on my belly and that was the first time he felt her move, it was a very neat experience to share with him. Now every time he touches my stomach and she is moving I don't even have to ask "Did you feel that" he's already shaking his head and acknowledging that he felt it. I can at times when I am laying down see her move from the outside, it's a bit weird to see.
I have fallen in love with cereal. I look forward to a bowl in the morning for breakfast and I also like to eat as a snack and for dinner if I could. I'm not too sure why, but I favorites now are Raisin Bran with Clusters, and Captain Crunch. I also have been eating a lot of Nutella and bread, or on a banana! Those are the most recent cravings I have had. My appetite I notice increasing within the past 4 weeks, the doctors appointment January 17th showed that on the scale!!!! When I went in the nurse asked me to get on the scale, and I already knew I had to gain quite a bit just by the way my clothes were fitting me. So I stepped on and as soon as I saw 1## I took a gasp out loud and said " Oh my!" the nurse along with the others at the desk all found it funny!I then asked the doctor if my weight gain was okay or was it too much, she kind of just cracked a smile and assured me that it's perfectly fine.

I always said I was going to do an epidural, but I am now stuck in the middle. I think that I may be able to do natural, but I have not made up my mind yet, and I don't think that I will until I am in labor! At the doctors appointment she asked me if I had been having any contractions, I automatically answered no. But in my after thoughts I realized I have no idea if I have had them or not, because I don't know what they feel like. Then I had to ask her what contractions feel like. She informed me that they felt like cramps and back pain. My answer was then still the same. But the next night after the appointment I believe I had just that. I woke up in the middle of the night with some cramping, it lasted for about 5 mins then it went away. I have read and was told that these are normal, the body is getting ready for what is about to happen (gulp) the only time to worry is if they start coming back to back. So I got a little little taste.
Rusty and I have been trying to get things done around the house before the baby comes, mainly move things around (which we are still doing), paint and other things. My lovely parents came to paint the baby's room for us while we were at work. It was a pale yellow color. Once they were finished and I asked them how it looked, my dad hesitated and said "Fine...its bright" then went on to tell me it turned out green for some reason! When I came home, it was green and now needs to be repainted. I will post some pictures of my "inspiration" room, and we will see how close the actual room will come about. We painted the living room, dining room ,kitchen, and hallway...we are sick of painting, we did a good job and only have a bit of one wall to cover, and the two to other bedrooms, Rusty has been doing a great job with painting.

The Holidays were great, we went to Fort Worth for Thanksgiving, had a great time like always, spent Christmas with my family here in KC. My sister came up with a bunch of games to play during Christmas, they were all fun. One was where you were blind folded and had two utensils to feel the person in front of you and had to guess who they were. Seems so easy. But when it was my turn my nephew Anthony who is the 1st grad was standing in front of me and I kept saying it was my Mom! Really???? It's harder that you think. New years we spent here as well, but we had a visitor, my sister in law Amy!!  I will blog about it in the next one!

Okay, so from here on out I hope to blog more regularly and get some pictures uploaded, sorry this one is so random with information! Till next time.

  1. First, you will be a great Mom! You are taking such good care of your baby girl and yourself. I agree with Amy - you are a beautiful expectant Mother! I'm so happy the role Rusty is taking as an expectant father. Wish I could have seen his face when he felt his baby girl. I'm glad you two will take lamaze classes - it will help you both know what to expect and help Rusty know how to be a good coach. I had both natural and Epidural. You can start off natural and then have the right to change your mind. I had bad heart burn with Amy too. Try eating light and bland and keep something on your stomach with plenty of water. Watch the food and drink. Hope that helps.

Can't wait til March to see your house and baby's room!

Hope to see close up pictures of you and maybe some of the baby. Thanks for updating your blog.
    Love you both.
