Another Holiday season ends, all the Christmas decorations are down and stored away till next year. A new year is here! I think I got spoiled with all the days off of work with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years all back to back. Now its FULL weeks all the way till March when baby comes. Christmas eve we were off from work, which was nice and had went back and forth on whether or not to go to Midnight mass due to Sophia is older and if we are up pass her bedtime she gets pretty cranky. But we ended up going to a 4:00 service at a Episcopalian church we have liked. Christmas was nice, we woke up in the morning and had our own Christmas with the three of us. We had eggnog french toast for breakfast and opened gifts. We woke up so early it was still dark out when we opened our gifts. Sophia this year got the hang of opening gifts this year. She would rip off the paper and say uh ho when she tore the paper, but then the more she did it she knew that once it was opened it was a new toy for her to play with, she got more excited after each present, it was nice to see her excitement and see her understanding more what was going on. After clean up we played with some toys and got ready for going to grandma and grandpa's house.

Rusty was really looking forward to dinner at my parents, due to the fact my dad made prime rib for dinner!! It was so so delicious, I ate too much. We opened gifts and Sophia got her kitchenette from gma and gpa, she loves playing with it. She pours the coffee and makes a sound like it's really pouring, and she stirs the pots like she is really cooking. So cute. After that more family came over to socialize and play games. Later in the night Sophia started to feel sick, she just laid around for most of the night, she had been having a cold for that week.

January 2nd we went to Sophia's wellness check up. She weighs 26 lbs, and she is in the 99th percentile for the size of her head, can you believe that. lol They say it is nothing to worry about, her daddy and I both had large heads, so I guess it was inevitable that she has one too! She took a bit to warm up to the nurse and Dr Jacobs but she came around. They were amazed by her, they kept saying how precocious she was, she did a lot of talking to them, although mainly words doctor said before we know it she will be formulating sentences. Her weight height and all are good. We went over how since she has been in daycare she has been sick so often, it feels like she is sick all the time. The doctors stated that this is normal and they assured me that next year she will be a lot more healthier, due to building up an immune system.I wish I could get that in writing. She really thinks Sophia is ready for potty training, when we say there is a potty she points to her private area and says potty, she know what it is and how it is supposed to be used, so I guess we are going to embark on the world of potty training!! I am excited to see how this goes and hope to have her partially or fully potty trained before the baby is here. She is so smart, sweet and sassy, I can't get enough of this girl, love, love , love her.
