Cupcakes |
Well we had the baby shower on March 6th. It was a great time and I was so happy to have gotten all the big things that we needed, it was like a large boulder lifted off of my shoulders to know that we were almost ready for the baby to be here. =) My mother and sister in law came in town for the shower, which was very nice, it was good to see them and I am glad they got to be apart of it. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures from the baby shower yet, I am having trouble getting them off of my parent's camera but I will have some to add soon, I hope. My sister hosted it at my parent's home, I was originally going to have it at my house, but I am glad we didn't . My parent's home can accommodate more people more comfortably. My sister did a great job with the games, food, and decorations. ( thank you very much Elizabeth) It was more of a brunch with breakfast casseroles, muffins, danishes, coffee, juice tea kind of thing. The cake was made up of cupcakes, my sister and I picked it out. The games were fun, we played one where people were blind folded and with stickers they had to place the sticker closest to my belly button, my mom would have won if she didn't cheat and with her finger felt for my belly button (which if you don't know STICKS OUT!) We also played a cute game my sister found at Party America which asked the guest questions about the baby and pregnancy and they had to guess which answers I would choose, my dad won that one. yes my dad was there, and so was Rusty. I didn't make him come he bought me some flowers and came to the baby shower, which I am so glad he did, bringing the flowers was very sweet. Ummm...there were a couple more games then it was present time! We got the Crib, stroller, car seat, highchair, clothes, bottles, bibs, baby monitor, breast pump and all that goes with it! We got a lot and we really appreciated every one of them very much! I can't tell you enough how much it all means to us.
A friend bought her 7 week old daughter to the shower she was soooo adorable!! It was nice to get a bit of practice in with holding a little girl, it felt so great. It was also great to see Rusty carry her. Rusty took a picture of me holding her with his phone and used it as his background for a bit. Which I thought was funny because it was me with someone else s baby!! I think that I held her for about 25-30 mins, which I wanted to, she was so good and just slept the entire time. But all this showed me was how weak I had become, because the next day my arms were sore. lol

Area Rug |

Painted Bedroom |

The nesting has begun, I am constantly cleaning, trying to make room in the kitchen so that we have two drawers dedicated to the baby with baby bottles and such, room in the linen closet for her toiletries and towels, and just cleaning in general. We finally bought an area rug I found at Home Depot which I think was too good of a deal to pass up!! It is so much more homey with his area rug, plus once we have the baby home it will be more comfortable in the living area. Rusty finished painting the bedroom, and still is half way done with the office, the only room left which can wait is the downstairs bathroom. Home is finally coming together. The outside however is a different story and we will work in this summer. I finally ordered blinds for the guest room and the baby's room, we cant wait for them to come in, we are also ordering a sleeper sofa to go in rec room so that guests can sleep more comfortably when they visit. (I hope) I feel it's crunch time and we need to be ready!! I still have to order baby bedding for the room, and I am sure there will be small things here and there that I will eventually figure out that we need for baby once she is here.

The baby's room is starting to come together. My mom helped be paint the changing table, which was a process, mainly because it was a dark espresso and we were painting white, it turned out to look very good, thank you Mom. Terri and I put the crib together, I must say it is very sturdy, thank you Terri. And my parent found me a dresser and my dad put that together for us, which took some time to do, lol thank you Dad. =) All I need is the bedding, valance, wall decor and I think the room will be complete!
Speaking of she my heart was always set on Brooke Taylor Atwell. Then other names came into play like Maddison, Addison, and Chloe. Rusty didn't care for Maddison or Addison, Chloe was a maybe. But because Addison and Maddison are in the top 10 of girls names I also have decided against it. I don't want a name because its trendy at this particular time. But in the baby book there is a place where you list all the names we thought about and the list keeps getting added to. We have Elise, and Sophia added on ( I like Sophia, Rusty thinks of the Golden Girls, and Rusty likes Elise, which I don't hate, I just don't know) And the newest one is Erica Taylor Atwell. We are definitely waiting till we see her to finalize a name, but I am very happy we have several ones that we like. =)

Week 34 |

Week 30 |
I believe from week 30 to week 33/34 I have felt a
bit of a difference along with my family, we all think that within these 4 weeks I have popped out more than I was.(see pictures above) It is getting heavier, and I am trying to walk as waddle free as I can. Trying to stay active with walks and such as gotten a bit harder so I don't try to push myself much. Rusty wants me to take it easy from here on out to prevent anything happening. I swear this pregnancy has gone by so fast, I can't believe it's almost over. It was a very pleasant pregnancy. Although I believe I am addicted to cereal now, and I'm not sure if it's going to end after my pregnancy is over. I LOVE RAISIN BRAN!! I am ready to start being a mom, I am excited and scared all at the same time but just cant wait to see her! And I am really excited to see Rusty be a dad, I think he's going to make a great one. By the way my nephews love Rusty, at times they go to him and will not come to me!! =( He's good with kids and plays well with them. My family finds it amusing to see me get all jealous over that. It's comical to see.
Till next time. =)
