6 months...alittle late

November 21 was Sophia's 6 month appointment, she weighs 15.15, and is 27.5 inches long.  She now sits up just fine on her own now. She was introduced to baby cereal a couple weeks before her 6months. She loved it, she was totally ready for baby food (beyond ready) as I would bring the spoon to her mouth she would take her hand onto mine and push it towards her mouth, she really enjoys it. I also tried carrots, which she did not like very much.  A week or so before we started foods she learned to shake her head no, so after the second bite of carrots she was shaking her head no with her mouth open and all the carrots were falling out, very messy but very funny.Since then she really eats anything we give her she has a healthy appetite. =) . About the end of the second week of November she started to get good at getting into the crawling position and rocking forward and back, she liked to do that a lot and when she would we would work with her a lot on teaching her the next step. Not till December 3rd did we classify her as an official crawler. Before this date she had several different times where she almost crawled, but on this date she moved her legs and arms in sync with each other to classify it as crawling!! It was so fun to see, we love to see her grow up and hit her milestones. After she crawled, I went to change her, changing her has gotten more difficult over the past couple months, she loves to kick, and try to turn over. As she was doing that I was thinking to myself how much more she is going to be moving around everywhere. It's not like we are going to be able to keep her in her "area" in the living room, she's going to be over the entire house. There are so many baby proofing things we are going to have to start very soon.

She's really starting to love Heidi a lot. Whenever Heidi walks by she will stop what she is doing and watch her walk by, and when Heidi decides to give her attention she has the biggest smile and will let out a little giggle. She will grab onto Heidi and when I pull her had away it is a tiny fist of Heidi's fur. lol  She is growing into a little person so quickly she is too much fun. She can make us laugh daily. Still no mama, or dada sounds yet. But we are working on it. I try to say mama as much as I can, and if I have time I try to teach her dada. ;)  She likes to be read to, if she is a bit fussy from teething, once I start reading she calms down. We have some books on the Nook that I read to her, but since she likes to touch and grab everything when she touches the screen it changes the page, so we have stuck to actual books, its easier.  I'm not sure if she is actually giving kisses or not. But at times she will grab my face and put her open mouth on my cheek, its a very slobbery kiss! She has done this to her Granny B, Daddy, and her Grandma. We like to think that she is giving us kisses, but she may very well just be trying to put us in her mouth, since that is where everything else goes.

November 28th I started my new job at Commerce Bank downtown. It is a 3rd shift position, reason behind taking this job was so that Rusty and I would be the only ones taking care of her so there would be no need for daycare, one it is very scary to trust someone to take care of our baby girl, and two its expensive, so this made the most sense. I work from 930pm til 530am. I have never worked this shift before so it is going to take some getting use to. The first night I had to work I got to where I was leaving and went into Sophia's room to kiss her goodbye as she was asleep, and as soon as I did I was flooded with emotion. I started to ball. I tried to pull myself together before I left the room so Rusty wouldn't see me cry. But as I said bye to Rusty he could tell I was upset, and then that made me cry again!! Rusty felt bad and said I didn't have to take the job, he's so sweet. But we both know I have to and it is the best, and I would have to go back to work eventually. So once Rusty put me back together, I went to work. The job is a very laid back atmosphere and the shift seems to go by really fast so far. There is a lot of work to keep you busy so that help with passing time. Since I started they have altered our schedule to have one10hour shift and one 9 hour shift so the overtime should be nice. The only thing we have to figure out is how I am to sleep. I have been running on about 4-5 hours of sleep a day, and at times not consecutively. Still a working progress on how we are going to correct this. But working is good for me although I miss having sleep and my long runs. I am very happy though that I get to spend my days with Sophia.
