On actual Valentine's Day I got off of work went to the store and bought groceries so I could prepare a Valentine's Breakfast since that worked best with our schedule. Which by the way a perk of working off hours, when you go to the store at 530am you have the place to yourself, no crowds, which I really hate at times. It was a nice first Valentine's day for the 3 of us.

had to throw on a red bow for the occasion |

Rusty and I decided to celebrate our Valentine's the weekend after mainly because he bought us tickets to the Romeo and Juliet Ballet at the new Muriel Kauffman Center of Performing Arts. Also this weekend Rusty's dad, Papa was coming into town to get some Sophia time so we had a babysitter. ;) It was a great weekend, I'm glad papa got to spend time with Sophia. When she first saw him she was a bit hesitant, but not too long after she warmed right up to him. Friday we went to lunch and went to Cabelas to walk and look around, nothing too exciting.
Saturday was the day!! I was so excited to go to this thing I couldn't wait, I loved the chance for Rusty and I go out to spend time together and the opportunity to dress up! So we got all dressed and started downtown. We stopped by Lidia's sat at the bar and had some appetizers and drinks, oh and an AMAZING desert. It was a nutella custard with bananas and hazelnuts, try it you'll love it. While we were there we remembered we celebrated Valentines there last year, seems so long ago, I was pregnant and Heidi was still recovering from her accident. So once we finished we headed out and it's kind of funny Rusty and I weren't sure if this was a play or a ballet at first. We kind of preferred a play but soon realized it was a ballet, silly us.
This was our first Ballet, and I really liked it, we had a change to hear the Kansas City Symphony, which was great. And I really appreciate talented dancers, especially ballet, from what I hear and could see its a hard talent to perfect. It was a good first experience for our first ballet. Not that they are not great, but I think Rusty and I are more play people, something with dialogue. lol We came home afterwards to a sleeping baby and Papa who's first night of watching Sophia alone was a success.

Daddy, Great Aunt Nise, Papa, and Nana on face time |
Update of Sophia, she has at times been able to wave bye bye on demand, and sure enough when Papa was leaving on Sunday she waved bye bye and said some b sounds. =) It was so exciting for us all to see. She also is taking a good amount of steps with her push walker, and she walks more when she is going from object to object. It is great to see her growing but I am also a little sad about it. There's no stopping or slowing down she's going to grow up so fast. Just today I was changing her and I looked at her feet, I almost cried, although they are still cute and little, they aren't the tiny tiny baby feet anymore.
