1 YEAR!

This past Saturday our littlest one turned one! We now have a 1 and almost 3 year old, and as fast as it is going I am going to wake up and have a 5 and 7 year old. I am happy with our two girls, and just like I was bittersweet about my pregnancy with Brooke I am the same with her growing up.  She is our last one and all this means is that this is our last first birthday, our last first everything. It is at times so sad being a parent lol, but way worth it.
Brooke is still her smiley fun self, she has become louder with age, she will go around in circles and just talk very loudly. The doctor warned us about the second talking less and pointing more, mainly because Sophia will do the talking for her or get her what she is pointing at, or tell us what she wants. She talks babble still for the most part, she has down mom and dad but as far as actually talking, there is not much, just sounds still. Just like Sophia, she is becoming a bit of a dare devil, climbs on the sofa and will try to scale the back of it, will attempt to go down the slide alone, throws herself back in order to hang up side down, we thought she was tame, but much like Sophia in ways. She is very good at playing alone and with sister She is great at motor skills, will stack neatly, and she even colors, I don't allow her to color with Sophia because she is still at the age where everything goes into mouth, but sure enough on her birthday she just sat there coloring on a paper, I was surprised, must watch Sophia do it so often. She loves her mommy and likes to be held often, recently transitioning into the one nap a day stage for 2 hours. Loves her Sophia, I feel they have such a sweet relationship. My heart literally melts, or at times I can feel butterflies in my stomach (sorry, for being so trite) when I get to witness them in their sister moments even at this young age. She will "talk" to Sophia the most.
Her party was at the house with mostly just family. Theme was little miss sunshine, the weather was a bit cooler than expected but was a decent day. Brooke loved the attention thoroughly! She loved being sung to and opening presents all were around her looking at her, she loved it. Sophia was a great big sister allowing her to have her day, for the most part. The presents were great, it was a great first birthday. We had simple hamburgers and sausages, instead of making her a whole cake  I just gave her one of the banana cupcakes I made for the party. She too enjoyed this part of her day as well. Our little one is getting older!!! Now its time for Sophia's birthday in May. We have decided we may start celebrating the girls day together after this year to save on parties, and family having to travel so close together for both the girls, at least until they fight us on it anyways.

Papa, Nana, and Granny B came in town for the celebration Friday morning, Papa's birthday is March 28th, a day before Brooke's, so we celebrated Friday night a bit with some BBQ and carrot cake. It was nice for the girls to spend some quality time with them it was a great 2 1/2 day visit which seemed like they got in some quality time with them. The girls loved them being here and they enjoyed the time. Cute thing when Sophia says Granny B at times it sounded like Green Bean! Both girls were sick and have some colds, they had their up and downs during the week and all the events, but they are still very fun and behaved pretty well with not feeling so good
